In case you missed it, check out this article about Free Christian Church North Andover from the Andover Townsman:

Historic Town Church Opens Second Campus

The new North Andover campus of Free Christian Church is now open!

Worship and Children’s Sunday School 10:00am

We had our grand opening on Sunday, September 20.  What a wonderful experience!  Our music team led us in a vibrant time of worship and there was a wonderful presence of the Spirit.  The children’s area was buzzing as well and things are off to a great start.  We’ve begun our new fall sermon series on the book of Romans called “Transformers” (see Rom 12:2) thinking about God’s desire for us to grow spiritually.

Alpha courses kick off this week and signups are going on for many different small groups, family night activities, and youth ministry which are all starting up.  So many great things going on for sure.

I can’t thank enough all of the volunteers who worked so hard to make this launch a success.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I want to invite you to come check out the new campus anytime.  If you’re not sure how to connect, please feel free to contact me by phone or email and I’d be happy to talk to you about it.

Entering North Andover

Greetings!

Tomorrow night, Wednesday, August 26, 6:30pm, we will meet at Smolak Farms for some ice cream and to hang out.  I will be there with the kids.  I’ll be available if you have any questions or concerns.  Otherwise, we’ll just have a nice summer treat (it should be hot out).

Next week

  • Wednesday, September 2, 6:30-8:00pm, Stevens Memorial Library, Large Meeting Room, 345 Main St., North Andover

BIG UPDATE:  The invitations are in!  They look very nice.  Grab as many as you need at the Welcome Desk or stop by the office during the week.  I’ll bring some with me tomorrow for y’all.

Here’s our updated meeting schedule and locations for the rest of the summer:

  • Wednesday, August 19, 6:30-8:00pm FCC Rotunda
  • Wednesday, August 26, 6:30pm, Treadwell’s at Smolak Farms, for ice cream.  It will just be a social gathering.  We won’t have any formal program that night.  Just good ice cream and check in.  I’ll be there to answer any questions that anyone might have or if there’s any updates.
  • Wednesday, September 2, 6:30-8:00pm, Stevens Memorial Library, Large Meeting Room, 345 Main St., North Andover

JP

Just a reminder that we will NOT be meeting this week.  I’ll be away at teen camp with a bunch of excited teens and equally enthusiastic youth leaders.  Be praying for us as this is always an important event for these students.

We WILL be meeting on 8/19, 8/26, and 9/2.  Hope to see you there (location TBD- contact me for location information).

Contact me if you have any questions or need any info.

This week we will be meeting in the FCC Rotunda, 6:30-8:00 pm.  Come check it out and get updates about our launch which is coming up so soon!  Contact me (JP) if you need any more information of if you have any questions.

Just wanted to let you know that we unfortunately won’t be able to meet at the Meetinghouse Commons Clubhouse anymore.  So, for this week (7/29/09) we will meet at the FCC Parish House, 6:30-8:00pm.  Hope you can make it.  Please contact me (Jon Paul) if you need anything.

Wednesday nights, 6:30-8:00pm
July 22, 29; August 5, 19, and 26

Everyone is invited to join us throughout the summer on Wednesday nights at the Meetinghouse Commons Clubhouse.  These gatherings are a perfect place to meet people who are going to be going to the North Andover campus, keep informed about everything relative to the new campus, and get updated prayer concerns. You don’t need to be a part of the new campus to come to these gatherings.  In fact, these gatherings will be a good place to learn more about the North Andover Campus and ask any questions you have.  We will have snacks, discussion, and prayer.  We’ll also have special activities for children each night as well so bring the little ones along too!

***Please note our location has changed***

Contact Jon Paul, Campus Pastor, for meeting location information and directions.

Unity

by Jon Paul

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Eph 4:3

I recently attended a staff meeting at West Congregational Church in Haverhill. The leadership of WCC has been considering what the new Free Christian Church North Andover campus means to them. WCC feels that there might be people in their congregation who might also want to be a part of the North Andover campus. These people might also feel conflicted or guilty about leaving their church. So, WCC is communicating with their congregation that if anyone feels called to be part of the new campus they can leave with the blessing of WCC.

Beyond that, WCC will be highlighting our new campus during a “Ministry Spotlight” as part of their Sunday worship and asking their congregation to consider if God might be leading them to be a part of the new campus.  If so, they will join a group who will work with Jon Paul and the Launch Team to prepare for the launch in September.  Then WCC will have a commissioning of these people at the end of the summer.

This is a profound act of unity on the part of our sister church who truly has a kingdom perspective. This is the kind of unity that comes only through the Holy Spirit as we all try to bring glory to God. Think of how powerful this could be for people from WCC who live in and around the new campus.  It could really expand the impact of the new campus in neighborhoods and in the community as we seek to share God’s love in new places.
